About
30+ years in learning and development. Not theory, hands-on.
VG Learning was founded by Van Gerald, who has spent more than three decades building training that actually changes how people perform.
A career built across the full learning and development lifecycle
Van has worked nearly every side of the L&D table: as a Senior Instructional Designer building courses from the ground up, as an ISD Project Manager leading complex training initiatives from concept through delivery, and as a Training Manager responsible for learning strategy across three divisions.
That range is intentional. Van has designed the training, managed the people who build it, and owned the results it is measured against. So VG Learning's approach is not built on one narrow slice of the field. It is built on the whole picture.
A standard shaped by the U.S. Navy submarine force
Before any of that, Van served in the U.S. Navy aboard submarines. An environment where training is not optional and mistakes are not hypothetical. That experience shaped a standard that carries through everything VG Learning creates training has to work, the first time, under real conditions.
Why VG Learning exists
Today, VG Learning brings that same standard to helping people build real, practical AI skills with clear, structured, and grounded in what actually works, not what sounds impressive on paper.
